Requiem For a punk poet..

Keiron Lee Higgins (born January 11th) is a Punk Poet/writer/sometime DJ from Halifax, West Yorkshire. England.
To pinpoint where his journey began is a multifaceted one. Coming from a creative background, originally being a self-taught cartoonist, after school and passionately into Hendrix, Sex Pistols and The Prodigy, he submerged into Punk and metal movements by joining a project at Square Chapel called "Opportunity rocks", where he discovered the art of performance. He also volunteered for Phoenix FM as one half of "Dr Nightmare's Medication Time", where he showcased his ever-growing love for music, which, thanks to the Internet, had branched to the likes of Atari Teenage Riot and various other affiliated music and sound.

From 2007-2014, he made a handful of electronic-based music for a variety of web labels worldwide under his "kamikaze deadboy" alias, which was heavily reliant on samples and occasionally blended genres he had previously enjoyed, specifically the DIY ethics of punk and up-and-coming breakcore movement, and noise music. After the Myspace boom ended, he would still make music under a host of aliases, with "Nurses With Knives", a noise and dark ambient project, being the most prolific.

During 2012-2016, he would later join a Leeds-based DJ collective, called Joe Palookas Soulville, which influenced his style of dress and led him to delve more into the ska and soul scene of live DJing. It was around 2013 that he discovered a spoken word artist named Cayn White and a spoken word night called Spoken Weird, which led to his now poet-based output. Having a sense of humour and previous stage presence thanks to his work with Square Chapel, he delved deeply into his writing again, which he had not done since leaving school. By 2016, he had already built a reputation at local open mics and opening for acts such as Atilla The Stockbroker and Steve Ignorant, while carefully keeping a keen eye on Halifax's later reinvention of the bar scene and arts.
